A letter from Mrs Duffy
We are absolutely delighted that your child will be starting at Grange Infant School in September 2020.
We appreciate that starting school is such an important and special time for you and your child and we would like to do everything we can to prepare and support you between now and your child starting in September.
Firstly, we need you to accept your child’s place with us. For this year, and due to the current situation, this will be done electronically as detailed in your placement letter from the Local Authority.
Following this, under normal circumstances, Mrs Green would now start visiting nurseries to meet the children and work with the nurseries on transition. Please be assured that this will still happen, but will be done virtually.
Our next parent information sessions usually happen in the first week of June. If schools are not re-open at this point, all the information that would have been shared will be sent out to you and will be on our website.
Stories, songs and smiles sessions that happen across the months of June and July will also not be able to go ahead if school is still closed. We will make sure that we create a series of videos and power points that will introduce the children to the staff so that when they arrive in September, they will have familiar faces.
After Mrs Green has been in contact with all the nurseries, you will then be notified of your child’s class and teacher.
Ordinarily our home visits happen in July. Again, if school continues to be closed, these will be done over the phone and face to face visits arranged for the start of September.
We have a New Starters section on our website www.grangeinfantschool.co.uk which we will keep up to date with as much information as possible for you.
Even although school is closed at present, either myself or my Deputy Headteacher Miss Myers are here daily. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to welcoming you to our school community.
Mrs Sarah Duffy
